How To Register Your Car On Bolt In South Africa

Does this sound familiar to you?

When I wanted to join Bolt with my car, the first thing I did was a Google search for "how can I add my vehicle on Bolt South Africa", and guess what I found?

Articles that claim to guide people like me with the process of registering your car for earning income with Bolt. But none of them really gave me the information I needed until I asked a friend, who's already on Bolt about the actual process.

So today I want to show the exact process I took, for registering my vehicle with Bolt - which is currently active and making money.

Let's get started.

Vehicle Requirements

Before you even think about adding your vehicle to the Bolt inventory, you need to ensure the vehicle meets its minimum requirements.

In South Africa, you must have the following:

  • A valid driver's license (with PdP - Professional Driving Permit)
  • Vehicle disc with operator card (Double-disc)
  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Roadworthy certificate

Also, your car must:

  • Have less than 100 KM mileage on the clock
  • Be in good cosmetic condition

With that, you'll be ready to begin your journey for joining Bolt in South Africa.

Vehicle Inspection

There's a perception that most Bolt cars aren't roadworthy and don't look good.

I can assure you, those cars' conditions changed after the Bolt vehicle inspection.

All vehicles registered with Bolt get carefully inspected, to ensure they can offer a customer with better transporting experience.

So, your next step is to take your car for inspection.

In South Africa, Bolt has partnered with RaspberryOne agency to perform inspections.

If you're in Johannesburg, please visit this address for inspections:

- 29 Bond Street, Ferndale, Randburg

Check Bolt car inspection availability in your area. It's only going to cost you R230.00 for the inspection and services from the RaspberryOne consultants to submit your registration to Bolt.

Now, you wait for your car registration to be processed.

How Long Did It Take

It usually doesn't take long.

In my case, the registration took about a week to complete.

This could probably be because I had an active driver already in their system.

But you'll get notifications from Bolt once your vehicle has been activated.

It's now time to find a driver.

Find a Driver

If you already have someone with an active profile on Bolt, that's great.

However, if you don't have one, Bolt could assist you to find a driver.

This is the only way your vehicle will be operational on Bolt.

As the drivers usually say, they're our (car owners) bosses because payments and everything else is processed through the Bolt driver's profile.

Follow these easy steps to add your vehicle for the driver.

This process usually takes about 24 hours to complete, depending on whether you've submitted all the required documents.

And finally, you can start earning some good bucks with Bolt.
