 SASSA Grant Payment Dates for July 2022:

• 4 July 2022 (Monday): Older Persons Grant
• 5 July 2022 (Tuesday): Disability Grant
• 6 July 2022 (Wednesday): Children’s Grant

In June, SASSA confirmed the Child Support Grant (CSG) increase/top-up.

The CSG is a social grant for low-income households. It serves the purpose of assisting families with their children essential needs. Any one under the age of 18 and within these circumstances can be considered.

All CSG beneficiaries will now receive their standard R480 and an additional amount of R240, making the total grant amount to be R720.

Eligible caregivers can now apply for the CSG Top-up grant at any SASSA local office or online at: sassa.gov.za.

This top-up is meant to assist relatives caring for orphans by providing them with basic needs. This is to keep the children within their extended families and not move them.

To qualify for the top-up, applicants must prove that a child is an orphan by providing the following:

• Certified copies of the death certificates of the child’s parents.
• Where the death certificate of one of the parents cannot be obtained by the applicant, you will need a certified copy of the death certificate of one parent and an affidavit attesting to the unknown status of the child’s other parent.
