Re-Apply for the R350 Social Grant
SASSA has announced they will not be processing new applications for the R350 covid grant. Because the government lifted the Disaster Management Act in April and allowed people to move freely without masks on the streets.
The R350 SRD was created during the pandemic, to give citizens the financial support they needed the most. But now that the regulations have changed, SASSA is waiting for the Department of Social Development to finalize and update the regulations accordingly.
However, this does not affect already-approved beneficiaries, they'll still get paid for April 2022.
However, SASSA further announced they will continue with the R350 grant and beneficiaries are welcome to re-apply. Currently, beneficiaries can only apply using WhatsApp.
"We are not going to have people be locked out because of not submitting things. As long as people submit [what they should] to us, we will process it and make sure they'll get what is due to them."
Applicants will be reviewed and considered for the SRD grant monthly.
